Job Description
Indutrail Painter - Production Overview Join our dynamic manufacturing team as an Industrial Painter, this role is responsible for the surface preparation, masking, and spray painting of composite and/or fiberglass, plastic parts to a highly cosmetic finish. Industrial Painters may need to operate pressure pots, conventional spray guns, requiring set-up and mixing of paints. Painters are also required to maintain the equipment for the job and ensure that they are working order, possessing a wide array of painting from smooth coat, texture finishes and Class A finishes Duties Paint and apply finishing coats to products in accordance to blueprints and/or customer specifications. Select paint according to company requirements and match paint colors, following specified color charts. Inspect paint jobs and materials, adjusting colors and fixing defects. Monitor painting operations to prevent and/or identify flaws, such as blisters or streaks, and analyze the root cause in order to implement or recommend permanent corrective actions. Adjust controls on ovens to speed the drying of paint between coats. Clean/prepare surfaces prior to applying paint to ensure proper adherence and quality; prepare previous paint surfaces applying metal etch. Safely dispose of chemical waste in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and company policy. Utilize appropriate painting techniques based on the nature of the surface in order to ensure the best possible outcome. Utilize special safety equipment. Use viscosity cups and thickness gauges to measure the amount of paint to be used and the texture of the paint in order to meet quality specifications. Paints small items and performs touch-ups Requirements Proven experience in industrial painting or manufacturing environments. Being able to work with a Devilbiss Conventional Spray Gun (Base Coat and Texturing Fundamentals is ideal but not necessary) Working with Binks Pressure Pots (Accurately Setup Pressure for Varieties of Paints) Keep Equipment in Good Prober Working Order (Maintenance) Able to Follow and Mix Paint Per Manufactures Product Data Sheet )PDS Experience painting a variety of surface types. Proficiency with binks and devilbiss pots and spray guns. Physical strength and repetitive movement. Diligence and attention to detail. Excellent dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Good organizational skill. Good verbal communication.
