Duties Prepare surfaces thoroughly by cleaning, sanding, caulking, plastering, drywall installation, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine appropriate painting techniques and materials for each project. Apply paint using various methods including brush painting, roller painting, spray painting (including airless paint spraying and conventional spraying), and construction spray painting to achieve smooth, even finishes. Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, scaffolding, and fixture installation equipment safely and effectively in diverse environments. Perform structural painting on surfaces such as stucco, masonry, metal fixtures, and other building components while maintaining safety regulations and respiratory protection protocols. Conduct surface testing with visual color comparison tools to match color schemes accurately according to client specifications or design plans. Maintain a clean work environment by properly storing materials and disposing of waste according to safety protocol adherence. Assist with remodeling, renovation projects, maintenance tasks, and minor handyman duties as needed to support overall project goals. Qualifications Proven experience in construction painting including residential painting, commercial painting, industrial coating applications, and surface preparation techniques. Strong knowledge of color theory to ensure accurate color matching and aesthetic consistency. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including airless spray systems), brushes, rollers, and scaffolding equipment. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately for precise application. Familiarity with construction estimating processes related to painting projects is a plus. Knowledge of safety regulations including respiratory protection measures and safe ladder use on construction sites. Experience with drywall installation, plastering, caulking, stucco application, masonry work, fixture installation, frame carpentry, masonry repairs or remodeling is advantageous. Basic math skills for measuring surfaces and calculating paint quantities efficiently. Previous construction site experience demonstrating reliability in fast-paced environments. Strong attention to detail combined with excellent problem-solving skills for quality finishes on diverse surfaces.
