Paint & Sandblast Manager — Welding & Fabrication Shop Now Hiring | Full-Time We are looking for an experienced Paint & Sandblast Manager to oversee all painting and sandblasting operations in our welding and fabrication shop.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong knowledge of industrial painting, abrasive blasting, surface preparation, production scheduling, and quality control. Responsibilities Manage daily paint and sandblasting operations Supervise and coordinate paint/sandblast employees Schedule jobs and coordinate workflow with welding and fabrication departments Ensure proper surface preparation, blasting, priming, and painting procedures Monitor coating thickness, finish quality, and overall workmanship Read job specifications, drawings, and coating requirements Manage paint, blasting media, equipment, and inventory Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Train employees on proper procedures, equipment, and safety practices Troubleshoot equipment and production issues Ensure work is completed efficiently, accurately, and on schedule Maintain compliance with company safety and environmental requirements Qualifications Previous experience in industrial painting and sandblasting Management or supervisory experience preferred Knowledge of surface preparation, primers, coatings, and application methods Experience with blast pots, compressors, spray equipment, and related shop equipment Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to read and understand work orders and specifications Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced welding/fabrication environment Dependable, safety-minded, and willing to lead by example What We're Looking For We need someone who can take ownership of the paint and sandblast department , keep production moving, maintain quality, and lead a team effectively.
