Job Title:
Industrial Painter Job Description The Industrial Painter applies industrial coatings to structural steel components using spray equipment, ensuring all work meets customer specifications and quality standards. This role focuses on preparing, priming, and painting metal beams in a manufacturing environment, with an emphasis on accurate coating application and inspection. Responsibilities Prepare structural steel and metal beams for painting, including cleaning, masking, and other surface preparation tasks as required. Prime and paint metal beams and other steel components using industrial spray guns and HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) equipment. Mix paints and coatings to the correct viscosity, color, and specification according to job requirements and manufacturer guidelines. Apply industrial coatings consistently and evenly, following customer specifications and internal quality standards. Inspect painted surfaces for proper coverage, finish quality, and defects, and perform touch-ups or rework when necessary. Follow established procedures and work instructions to ensure safe and efficient painting operations in the manufacturing facility. Maintain painting tools, spray guns, and related equipment in good working condition, performing basic cleaning and upkeep. Work collaboratively with team members involved in coating, painting, and welding processes to meet production schedules. Adhere to all workplace safety rules and guidelines while handling paints, coatings, and spray equipment. Essential Skills Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial painting, including experience with structural steel or similar heavy industrial components. Hands-on experience with industrial painting and coating processes in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Proficiency using spray guns for industrial applications, including HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) equipment. Ability to mix paints and coatings accurately to meet specified requirements. Strong attention to detail when inspecting painted surfaces for quality and adherence to specifications. Capability to follow written and verbal instructions and work to customer and internal specifications. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with structural steel in a coating or painting capacity. Industrial inspection of painted or coated surfaces. Exposure to environments that include welding and fabrication alongside painting operations. Ability to take initiative and demonstrate leadership qualities, including experience gained in non-work environments. Why Work Here? The typical shift runs from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM, providing a consistent daytime schedule in an industrial shop setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Allentown, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
