You will be tasked with preparing metal surfaces through sandblasting and applying industrial-grade coatings to finished components while upholding our high quality and safety benchmarks. We are looking for someone with a solid background in industrial painting and blasting who possesses a meticulous eye for detail and a steadfast commitment to maintaining a secure work environment. Core Duties Execute sandblasting procedures to effectively strip and ready surfaces for subsequent coating applications. Utilize spray equipment, brushes, or rollers to blend and distribute industrial paints and finishes. Prepare surfaces thoroughly by degreasing, cleaning, and masking to ensure optimal adhesion. Conduct post-application inspections to verify that coatings meet thickness and uniformity standards. Help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team by strictly adhering to all safety guidelines and utilizing required PPE. Perform routine upkeep on blasting and painting machinery, notifying management of any mechanical issues. Track ambient temperature and humidity levels to make necessary adjustments to the application process. Keep the workspace organized and ensure all materials and tools are stored correctly. Review technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to confirm project requirements. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to provide updates on project progress and address any concerns. Preferred Qualifications Completion of high school or a GED equivalent. At least two years of professional experience in sandblasting or industrial painting. Experience operating both conventional and airless spray systems. Understanding of surface preparation standards and industrial coating systems like NACE or SSPC. Ability to translate technical specifications and blueprints into finished work. Demonstrate a high level of quality control and attention to detail in every task. Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and handle physical labor in diverse settings. Professional certifications from organizations such as SSPC or NACE. Previous experience working within a manufacturing or fabrication setting. Proficiency in operating overhead cranes or forklifts. Work Environment You will encounter noise, dust, fumes, and fluctuating temperatures. Mandatory use of safety gear such as coveralls, gloves, and respirators. The role involves physical activities including lifting, bending, standing, and working in elevated or tight spaces.
