You review the work order, confirm masking lines, check dew point and ambient conditions, and prep the blast pot. A precise abrasive blast reveals a clean, profiled surface ready for a high-performance coating. You mix to spec, fine-tune your spray pattern, and lay down a uniform coat—verifying film thickness and finish before the part moves to the next stage. Every step reflects your commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork. How you'll contribute Carry out sandblasting to remove contaminants and achieve the required surface profile. Prepare and apply industrial coatings using spray guns, brushes, and rollers. Complete all pre-application prep, including cleaning, degreasing, and masking. Inspect coated parts for consistent coverage, target thickness, and overall quality standards. Observe safety protocols and wear PPE without exception. Maintain and care for painting and blasting equipment; report any malfunctions promptly. Monitor temperature and humidity; adjust techniques and timing to suit conditions. Keep workspaces clean and ensure proper storage of materials and tools. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to confirm specifications. Communicate effectively with supervisors and peers on progress and issues. Preferred qualifications (not required) High school diploma or equivalent. 2+ years of industrial blasting/painting experience. Comfort with airless and conventional spray systems. Knowledge of coating systems and surface prep standards (e.g., SSPC/NACE). Ability to interpret technical drawings/specifications. Meticulous attention to detail and quality assurance. Able to lift 50 lbs and perform physical work in varied conditions. Certifications in industrial painting (e.g., NACE, SSPC). Experience in fabrication or manufacturing environments. Experience with forklift or overhead crane operation. Work environment Exposure to dust, fumes, noise, and varying temperatures. Use of PPE such as respirators, gloves, and coveralls. Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and work in confined or elevated areas.
