Wood Painter Level III Location:

McKinney, TX Pay:

$28.00-$32.00 per hour

Schedule:

40 hours per week with possible overtime

Job Type:

Full-time We're looking for an experienced Painter III to prepare, finish, and refinish wood surfaces for a variety of products, furniture, cabinetry, fixtures, and displays. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, solid finishing skills, and the ability to consistently produce high-quality work.

Responsibilities:

Prepare wood surfaces by sanding, cleaning, filling, and repairing imperfections Mix and apply paint, stain, lacquer, varnish, and other finishes Operate spray guns, brushes, rollers, and other painting equipment Match and mix colors and stains to achieve the desired finish Ensure smooth, even, and consistent finishes Perform touch-ups and refinishing as needed Inspect completed work for quality and adherence to specifications Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment Perform minor equipment maintenance and repairs Maintain proper inventory of painting materials and supplies Work closely with carpenters, designers, and production team members Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment

Requirements:

Proven experience as a painter in a commercial, industrial, manufacturing, or woodworking environment Strong knowledge of painting materials, tools, and finishing techniques Experience with surface preparation and wood finishing Experience operating spray guns and other painting equipment Knowledge of color matching and mixing Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Bilingual required (Spanish) Mechanical aptitude for equipment cleaning and minor repairs Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to manage time effectively and meet production deadlines Basic understanding of workplace safety requirements Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs. Comfortable working around fumes, dust, and varying temperatures

Safety & Maintenance:

Follow proper ventilation and personal protective equipment requirements Safely handle paints, stains, solvents, and other finishing materials Properly clean brushes, spray equipment, and other tools after use Store paints, solvents, and materials properly Safely dispose of rags, solvents, and other materials Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
