Temp-to-Hire / Long-Term Opportunity Job Summary Summit Staffing is hiring a Paint Team Lead for a manufacturing facility in Roanoke, TX. We are looking for a hands-on painting professional with strong experience in industrial, automotive, commercial vehicle, truck, heavy equipment, fleet, or manufacturing environments . The Paint Team Lead will work alongside the production team while providing day-to-day leadership, training, quality oversight, and technical support within the paint department. This is a great opportunity for an experienced painter or lead who is ready to take on additional responsibility and help maintain high standards for safety, quality, production, and employee development . Responsibilities Provide hands-on leadership and daily support to the paint department. Help coordinate daily production priorities and assignments. Train and mentor new and existing employees on painting and preparation processes. Monitor work for quality, productivity, and adherence to company standards. Perform and oversee surface preparation, including sanding, grinding, masking, cleaning, and priming. Operate paint booths and spray equipment. Mix paint and assist with color matching according to specifications. Apply coatings using appropriate spray equipment, hand spray guns, brushes, and rollers. Inspect finished products for coverage, color, gloss, defects, and overall finish quality. Identify and correct paint defects such as runs, sags, orange peel, fisheyes, contamination, and other finish issues. Work with aluminum, steel, and other metal substrates. Assist with troubleshooting paint and finishing issues. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas. Ensure proper use and care of painting equipment and tools. Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements. Support production goals while maintaining quality standards. Communicate production, quality, and employee-related concerns to management. Assist with continuous improvement and process improvement activities. Qualifications 3+ years of professional painting experience preferred. Experience in industrial, automotive, commercial vehicle, truck, heavy equipment, fleet, or manufacturing painting preferred. Previous lead, trainer, senior painter, or supervisory experience preferred. Strong hands-on knowledge of paint preparation and application. Experience with paint booths and spray equipment. Experience with paint mixing and color matching. Experience preparing and painting steel and aluminum . Ability to identify and correct common paint and finishing defects. Ability to read and follow work instructions, specifications, and drawings. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to train and guide other employees. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Must be dependable and willing to work as part of a team. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a hands-on paint professional who has experience leading, training, or mentoring others and is comfortable taking responsibility for daily paint operations. Candidates with experience as a Paint Lead, Senior Painter, Paint Technician, Industrial Painter, Automotive Painter, Truck Painter, Body Shop Painter, or Production Paint Lead are encouraged to apply. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and work for extended periods. Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive tasks. Ability to safely handle painting equipment and materials. Ability to work in a manufacturing/paint booth environment. Must be able to wear required PPE.Schedule & Pay Pay:
