Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Professional Painter/Finisher to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to a variety of surfaces across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Responsibilities Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and applying primer to ensure optimal adhesion of paint and coatings. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and surface specifications to determine appropriate painting methods and materials. Apply paint using brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless spray painting), and conventional spray equipment for efficient coverage. Perform structural painting tasks on various surfaces such as drywall, masonry, metal, wood trim, and fixtures with attention to detail. Use hand tools and power tools safely to execute detailed finishing work including caulking, plastering, trim carpentry, and fixture installation. Follow all safety regulations by wearing respiratory protection, adhering to safety protocols, and maintaining a clean work environment. Conduct surface preparation for renovation projects by sanding, patching holes, applying coatings, and ensuring smooth finishes aligned with client expectations. Assist in interpreting technical drawings or blueprints for complex projects involving industrial or commercial painting applications. Maintain accurate records of project progress, materials used, and safety compliance throughout each job site. Qualifications Proven experience in residential painting with knowledge of color theory and visual color comparison techniques. Familiarity with construction estimating processes and interpreting technical drawings or blueprints. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including airless), brushes, rollers, and other finishing equipment. Strong understanding of construction site safety regulations including respiratory protection and safe ladder use. Ability to perform surface preparation tasks such as drywall repair, caulking, plastering, masonry work, and fixture installation. Experience with construction spray painting techniques for commercial or industrial applications. Knowledge of coating types suitable for various surfaces along with proper application methods for durability. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to surface area or material quantities. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical instructions accurately. Prior experience in remodeling or maintenance projects is preferred but not required; a handyman background is a plus.
