Industrial Painter Salary Range :

Depending on Experience ($22-$26) St. George Steel is seeking an experienced Industrial Painter to join its high performing team in the beautiful fast-growing southern Utah city of St. George. Our ideal Painter has excellent visual definition and is detail oriented. Our ideal Painter will be experienced with liquid paints, is able to recognize color variations, and has industrial paint experience.

Job Description :

Properly define the term Painter for the steel fabrication industry Prepare and paint steel structures Work with airless paint guns and HVLP guns Select paint according to company requirements and match colors of paint following specified work orders and drawings Mix paints to manufacturer's specifications, stir and thin paints using mixers Remove grease, dirt, paint or rust from surfaces in preparation for paint application using abrasives, solvents, chemicals, washing tanks and pressure washers Prepare and tape parts before painting Clean and maintain spray equipment; applying spray foam insulation Operate overhead crane and forklift Monitor painting operations to identify flaws, such as blisters or streaks, and correct causes. Sand, clean and touch up paint as needed Other duties may be assigned that may specifically impact business and/or organizational needs. Clean and properly maintain all painting equipment by disassembling, cleaning and reassembling sprayers, power equipment using solvents, wire brushes and cloths Preferred requirement: Ability to understand and follow all safety protocols, disposing of hazardous waste in appropriate manner, ability to select and use required PPE, ability to verify quality of process

Physical Requirements :

This role is located at a steel fabrication plant and is tasked to work on the fabrication/paint floor throughout the shift. This role will interact with machining, welding, materials, and crane operators. All elements of a steel fabrication plant should be expected at all times.
