Responsibilities Lead and supervise painting crews to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery across residential, commercial, and industrial sites. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to accurately plan painting tasks. Prepare surfaces thoroughly through cleaning, sanding, caulking, drywall repair, plastering, and surface priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Apply coatings using a variety of methods including brush painting, roller painting, spray painting (including airless and conventional spraying), and construction spray techniques. Select appropriate paints, stains, primers, and coatings based on project requirements and color theory principles; perform visual color comparisons for consistency. Operate hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, ladders safely while adhering to all safety regulations including respiratory protection protocols. Manage site safety by enforcing safety protocol adherence and conducting regular safety inspections to prevent accidents. Coordinate with project managers to estimate material needs using construction estimating skills; order supplies as needed. Maintain detailed documentation of work progress, safety compliance records, and project reports. Support team training on safety procedures, proper tool use, surface preparation techniques, and application methods to enhance team skills. Qualifications Proven experience in construction painting with a strong background in residential, commercial, or industrial projects. Demonstrated leadership ability as a foreman or lead painter overseeing teams on-site. Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and blueprints; understanding of construction site operations. Skilled in surface preparation techniques including drywall repair, plastering, caulking, stucco application, masonry work, and concrete finishing. Knowledge of various painting methods such as brush painting, roller painting, airless spray painting, conventional spray techniques, and coating applications. Familiarity with safety regulations related to construction painting environments; experience with respiratory protection equipment is preferred. Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely; experience with fixture installation is a plus. Strong understanding of color theory for accurate color matching; experience with visual color comparison is advantageous. Basic math skills for measurements and estimating materials; ability to read construction drawings and interpret technical specifications. Additional skills such as handyman experience, restoration work, remodeling knowledge or airless paint spraying are beneficial for this role.
