Orthotic Technician/Shoe Cobbler Marsden's Shoes Co - 5.0 Whittier, CA Job Details Part-time | Full-time $20 - $27 an hour 3 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Paid time off Qualifications OSHA (regulatory compliance area) Equipment repair Safety regulations Certified Pedorthist Patient care Full Job Description As an Orthotic technician you will make, fit, repair, and maintain orthotic and shoe devices according to specifications and under the guidance of a CPed. Responsibilities Ordering and receiving inventory and other tasks as assigned. Fitting of diabetic shoes with custom-made inserts. Fitting of functional custom-made foot inserts. Perform minor repairs and modifications on orthotics and shoes. Instructs or educates patients and caregivers on the proper care and use of provided equipment. Identify any issues/problems and adjust accordingly to ensure patient satisfaction with devices provided. Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment. Provide detailed clinical notes in patient medical records. Adhere to all safety regulations; compliance with Medicare and other governmental regulations; compliance with blood borne and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements. Eligibility:
Current board certification in Pedorthics from the American Board for Certification (ABC) or the Board of Certification (BOC), or An equivalent combination of education and experience to meet board eligibility. May be willing to consider candidates who are not certified or board-eligible but have at least 2-3 years of demonstrated past experience in providing prosthetic and/or orthotic services under the supervision of a certified clinician.' '
