We work with facility owners, architects, engineers, contractors, and property management companies to create innovative, cost-effective, and comfortable buildings. We're seeking a Building Automation Controls Technician to join our team. You'll be responsible for the commissioning and service of HVAC building automation systems. This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and benefits.
COMMISSIONING NEW SYSTEMS
(installation is done by others; most work is 7am-4pm)
  • Travel to job sites and confirm the installation matches the drawings.
  • Use a laptop to configure controllers and verify proper operation of all end devices (sensors, actuators, motors, etc.).
  • Confirm all controllers communicate with each other.
  • When problems arise, determine the fault (wiring error, bad materials, faulty equipment) and coordinate the correction with others.
  • Document progress and deviations from the drawings (as-builts).
SERVICING EXISTING SYSTEMS
  • Respond to owner reports of uncomfortable building conditions; assess the situation and connect to the controls.
  • Identify the cause and whether it is controls-related.
  • Provide corrective action: replace failed parts, update or adapt controller configuration and programs, or coordinate with the appropriate people.
  • Document conditions and action taken.
MUST HAVE
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Willingness to travel in Indiana, southern Michigan, and northwest Ohio.
  • Must pass a background check and be able to work at our customers' sites.
NICE TO HAVE
  • Experience with Delta Controls, enteliWEB, GCL, or Tridium/Niagara N4.
  • Knowledge of DDC controls and the BACnet protocol.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment.
  • Knowledge of job site safety.
  • Knowledge of electricity and low-voltage troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of computers, networking, and programming.
