JOB DESCRIPTION
Under general direction, the Controls Technician/Electricianmanages all control field devices that are part of theprocesscontrol and instrumentation technology in the Plant. Thisposition installsnew programmable logic controllers (PLC) and programs for new machines or changes to existing ones. The Controls Technician/Electriciancreates and updates PanelView applications foroperatingthese programs,in order tomake operations as efficient as possible. This position also communicates the status of all projects and initiatives to their leader.Responsibilities:
Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Oversees plant wide machineryfocusreliability of instruments, and process variability reduction programs. Works with process engineers and supervisors in the areas to develop and applythe appropriatestrategies. Plans, andassiststechnicians on short- and long-term maintenance activities across the plants with emphasis on reliability and reducing process variability.
Qualifications:
Required Education & Skillsets:
Massachusetts journeyman electrical license Technicalassociatesdegree (preferred) or equivalent work experience 3-5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment Strong interpersonal skills PLCs, Drive's Programming and Troubleshooting Auto-Cad Ability toparticipatein cross-functional teams. Strong communication skills (verbal and written) Ability to manage change andconflict. Ability to effectively troubleshoot andproblem solve. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,operatingand maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability towriteroutine reports and correspondence. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability tooperatedrills, grinders, and other maintenance shop tools. Ability to work within the CMMS to capture work conducted on machines, repairs, asset adds, capitalimprovements. Ability to travel, if necessary, between plants or to obtain parts. Validdriverslicense with reliable transportation.Physical Demands:
