ELECTRICAL CONTROLS MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

POSITION SUMMARY
The Electrical Controls Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving electrical and automated control systems throughout the facility. This position ensures equipment reliability, minimizes downtime, and supports safe and efficient production operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated control systems. Maintain, repair, and program PLC-controlled equipment and machinery. Diagnose and repair motor controls, electrical circuits, sensors, VFDs, HMIs, and instrumentation devices. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems. Install, test, and maintain industrial electrical equipment, control panels, wiring, and conduit. Respond promptly to equipment failures and production downtime issues. Assist with machine upgrades, process improvements, and equipment installations. Calibrate and maintain instrumentation and process control equipment. Complete maintenance work orders and maintain accurate maintenance records. Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements. Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Work collaboratively with production and maintenance teams to improve equipment performance. Maintain inventory of electrical and controls-related spare parts and supplies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education High School Diploma or GED required. Technical degree or certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or related field preferred. Experience Minimum of three (3) years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance preferred. Experience troubleshooting PLCs, motor controls, and automated manufacturing equipment. Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and controls. Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), sensors, and automation equipment. Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams and schematics. Proficient with electrical testing equipment, including multimeters and diagnostic tools. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb throughout the workday. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, noise, and dust. Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces when necessary.
WORK SCHEDULE
Full-time position. Overtime, weekends, holidays, and on-call work may be required based on operational needs.
Pay:
From $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 45.0 per week
