Job Description

Marvin is seeking a Controls & Automation Team Lead to drive reliable, efficient, and safe automation across our manufacturing operations. In this role, you'll lead a small team of controls specialists to design, program, troubleshoot, and improve PLC, HMI, robotics, and motion systems that power our premium window, door, and skylight production lines. You'll manage automation projects from concept through startup, partner closely with maintenance, engineering, and production, and champion standard work, documentation, and preventive strategies. As part of Marvin's people-first culture, you'll mentor technicians, support continuous improvement, and help shape long-term automation strategy in a stable, growth-focused environment. Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and schedule a team of controls and automation technicians/engineers. Design, program, and maintain PLC, HMI, robotics, and motion control systems for manufacturing lines. Troubleshoot automation and electrical issues to minimize downtime and improve reliability. Manage automation projects from requirements and design through installation, commissioning, and handoff. Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and best practices for controls systems. Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering to prioritize and execute improvement initiatives. Implement and support data collection, OEE, and monitoring systems to enhance visibility and performance. Ensure compliance with electrical and safety standards, including machine guarding and lockout/tagout. Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities in quality, throughput, and energy efficiency. Support capital planning and vendor management for automation equipment and services.
