BMS CONTROLS TECHNICIAN

Responsibilities As a key member of the TMBA team, the Controls Technician works under minimal supervision and performs installation, commissioning, repairs, and general servicing of Building Automation Systems Perform BMS start up: checking, testing, system diagnostics and commissioning from system-level controllers to end devices for new or retrofit projects.
Perform BMS Retrofits:
including removal of antiquated systems and upgrading. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance service activities to ensure optimal performance of system. Perform work assignments from either oral or written instructions, sketches, blueprints, and wiring diagrams. Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair and/or replace control components and controls systems. Should also be able to troubleshoot mechanical, HVAC and electrical issues as relate to the BAS Control system operation. System installations (Install end devices, mount control panels and panel terminations.) Communicate with customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site. Keep customer informed on the nature of service provided, outstanding issues and recommends system enhancements, or replacement. Promotes the sale of add-on work and hands off to sales. (Eligible to earn a sales commission.) Requirements Prior field installation experience required Knowledge of HVAC systems and BMS controls Experience with BACnet Communication and Ethernet Networks Ability to read blue prints and wiring diagrams High School diploma or equivalent Technical school training a plus Excellent organizational skills Strong communication skills Clean Driver's license required Work Location New York Metropolitan area.
