Job Description
Kongsberg Automotive is a global leader in providing cutting-edge products to the automotive industry. We are seeking an experienced Automation & Controls Technician to join our manufacturing team in Willis, Texas. In this hands-on role, you will help keep our automated production equipment operating safely and efficiently. You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, perform preventive maintenance, support continuous improvement initiatives, and work closely with Operations and Engineering to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime. What You'll Do Troubleshoot and repair automated manufacturing equipment to minimize production downtime. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Diagnose and troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and industrial control systems. Inspect, calibrate, install, and maintain sensors, motors, electrical components, and automation equipment. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings. Support equipment upgrades, process improvements, and continuous improvement projects. Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability and performance. Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair documentation, and calibration logs. Ensure compliance with all company safety procedures and regulatory requirements. Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring equipment failures. Minimum Qualifications 3+ years of experience maintaining automated manufacturing equipment in an industrial environment. Strong troubleshooting skills involving electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings. Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a production environment. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable but not required: Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs HMI systems Servo motors and motion control systems Industrial sensors and safety devices LabVIEW programming Why Join Kongsberg Automotive?
