Job Summary We are seeking a hands-on Controls Field Technician to support the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial control systems. This role works across manufacturing, building automation, data centers, wastewater, and other industrial environments. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of electrical controls, wiring principles, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, instrumentation, and industrial communications, with the ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and controls-related issues in the field. Key Responsibilities Install, wire, and terminate control panels, sensors, actuators, and field devices. Support system startups, commissioning, and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT). Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, hardware, and control system issues. Read and interpret electrical schematics, loop diagrams, and control documentation. Perform PLC I/O verification, basic configuration, logic modifications, and debugging as authorized. Configure and troubleshoot HMIs, VFDs, motor controls, and industrial networks. Work with communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP, Modbus, and Profinet . Perform instrumentation calibration and signal verification. Document field changes, redlines, service reports, and commissioning activities. Follow LOTO procedures and

Arc Flash safety requirements. Physical & Work Requirements Primarily field-based work in industrial and data center environments. Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and lift equipment as required. Comfortable working around noise, heat, mechanical hazards, and active industrial equipment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. May require extended shifts during startups or outages. Frequent domestic and potential international travel, including overnight or extended travel, is required. Experience 2-5 years of experience in electrical, controls, or industrial automation field work. Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field, or equivalent field experience. Experience with PLC platforms such as Rockwell Automation (ControlLogix/CompactLogix), Siemens, or Schneider Electric preferred. Familiarity with
HMI/SCADA
systems such as Ignition or Wonderware preferred. Strong understanding of electrical control systems, instrumentation, VFDs, and industrial networking. Ability to read electrical schematics, I&C drawings, and P&IDs. Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills. Must possess or maintain independent, valid work authorization.
