We specialize in custom wood doors, windows, and stained-glass restoration for historic homes throughout the St. Louis area. This is a unique, evolving position for someone who enjoys working across disciplines. You will have the opportunity to contribute to software development, website and user-interface design, financial planning, technical design, and business development, while also learning and participating in fine woodworking and historic restoration. The person who succeeds in this role will have the opportunity to help shape not only our technology and design systems, but also how the company operates and where it goes next.
What You'll Do:
Website & Software Interface Design Develop and improve internal software and digital tools that support our design, estimating, production, and business operations. Help identify opportunities to automate repetitive processes and make the company more efficient. Build tools and systems that connect the office, design, estimating, and shop operations. Work with databases, APIs, spreadsheets, and other technologies as appropriate. Research and implement new technology that can improve the way we design, build, document, and manage projects. Maintain our company website. Help communicate our craftsmanship, projects, and philosophy through thoughtful digital design. Improve the customer experience from initial inquiry through project completion. Develop visual systems, presentations, and digital materials that reflect the quality of our physical work. Fine Woodworking & Historic Preservation You will be expected to develop a meaningful understanding of fine woodworking and traditional craftsmanship. That may include learning and participating in: Traditional joinery and woodworking techniques Historic window and door construction Wood selection and material preparation Historic restoration methods Stained-glass restoration processes Finishing and detailing Historic architectural styles and construction methods Shop processes and quality control You don't have to arrive as an experienced woodworker. We do expect you to genuinely want to learn.
