Job Description

The instructor is responsible for delivering classroom/lab instruction in the carpentry trade. Duties will include planning, implementation, and evaluation of program components, services, and related activities. The instructor will work closely with the Director of Workforce & Trades Education in matters related to and for the benefit of the specific program.
  • Prepare and update materials and outlines.
  • Provide traditional lecture and project-based learning activities, including real-world scenarios, as it relates to the construction trade.
  • Prepare course objectives following industry standards and applicable requirements by contract.
  • Plan and document a program of study that meets the needs and abilities of students.
  • Complete accurate attendance documentation and other course related paperwork.
  • five or more years of direct experience in the carpentry field .
  • Obtain the National Center for Construction Education and Research Certification (NCCER) within two months of employment.
  • Ability to work daytime or evening hours
  • Basic computer skills.
  • National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) certification and teaching experience is a plus.
  • Third party certifications.
