Job Title:
Assembly Technician - 1st Shift & 2nd Shift Job Description This role focuses on the assembly of low and medium-voltage drives and electric transformers in a clean, well-organized manufacturing environment. You will collaborate closely with a small team to ensure accurate, high-quality builds that meet production and safety standards.Pay:
$19/hr - 1st Shift $20.90/hr - 2nd Shift Responsibilities Assemble low and medium-voltage drives and electric transformers according to work orders, blueprints, and electrical schematics. Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively to perform mechanical and electrical assembly tasks. Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics to route, connect, and secure electrical components and wiring. Perform electrical wiring and electronic assembly tasks. Work in teams of 2-4, coordinating tasks and communicating effectively to meet production goals and timelines. Verify proper installation and alignment of mechanical and electrical components and make adjustments as needed. Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions to maintain quality and consistency. Inspect completed assemblies for defects, proper connections, and adherence to specifications, and report any issues promptly. Maintain a clean, organized workbench and contribute to overall shop cleanliness and safety. Adhere to all safety policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment such as steel-toe footwear and safety glasses. Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline assembly processes or improve product quality. Essential Skills 1+ years of mechanical or electrical assembly experience with the same employer. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and mechanical components. Hands-on experience using hand and power tools in a manufacturing or assembly environment. 1+ years of experience reading blueprints or electrical schematics. Ability to perform electrical assembly, including wiring and basic electronic assembly tasks. Ability to follow detailed work orders, instructions, and safety procedures. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to work effectively as part of a small team on the production line. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial production environment. Willingness to learn advanced schematic reading and electrical assembly techniques over time. Strong reliability and consistency in attendance and performance. Work Environment This is a 1st shift position with hours from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, providing a consistent four-day workweek schedule. The 2nd Shift schedule works 3:00pm - 1:00am, Monday - Thursday. Work takes place in a clean, well-lit manufacturing facility designed for bench assembly of medium-voltage drives and transformers. The facility is brand new and serves as a major operations center, with significant planned growth and job expansion over the next several years. You will work in small teams on the production floor, using standard manufacturing tools and equipment in a structured, safety-focused environment. Steel-toe footwear and safety glasses are required as part of the dress code, reflecting a strong emphasis on workplace safety and compliance. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Milwaukee, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.90/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
