Job Title:
Sandblaster Job Description This role supports mechanical, electrical, and body assembly operations in a hands-on manufacturing environment. You will perform basic mechanical assembly, assist with electrical and body work, and support sandblasting and welding-related tasks while following detailed work instructions and safety standards. The position is ideal for someone with mechanical aptitude who enjoys working with tools, learning new skills, and contributing to high-quality production work. Responsibilities Perform basic mechanical assembly tasks such as fastening components, installing brackets, and assisting with subassemblies. Use hand tools and basic power tools under guidance and supervision to complete assigned work safely and efficiently. Assist with electrical assembly activities including wire routing, labeling, and preparation for termination. Support body and interior assembly work such as panel installation, surface preparation, sealing, and material handling. Follow written work instructions, basic drawings, and verbal direction to complete tasks to specification. Conduct self-checks of completed work to verify it meets basic quality and fitment expectations. Accurately complete required production checklists, logs, and documentation. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with safety and 5S standards. Escalate issues related to quality, fitment, safety, or unclear instructions to a supervisor or lead technician promptly. Learn and develop skills to meet expected takt time and productivity standards in a manufacturing environment. Support activities related to MIG welding, grinding, sandblasting, painting, and general labor as directed. Assist with automotive-style assembly tasks, including automotive manufacturing and auto assembly operations as needed. Essential Skills 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, or a hands-on work environment. Direct experience with sandblasting in an industrial or manufacturing setting. Basic mechanical aptitude and a strong willingness to learn assembly processes. Ability to safely use hand tools and basic power tools with instruction. Ability to read and follow basic drawings or work instructions with support. Good attention to detail and the ability to follow directions consistently. Reliable attendance and a strong focus on safety in all tasks. Capability to perform general labor, including lifting, carrying, and material handling. Comfort working around MIG welding, grinding, and related fabrication processes. Ability to support mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, and body assembly tasks as required. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with MIG welding, including basic understanding of welding processes and equipment. Familiarity with reading simple blueprints or diagrams. Background in automotive repair, automotive manufacturing, or automotive assembly. Experience with painting, surface preparation, and sealing work. Exposure to fiberglass and body assembly processes. Ability to use a variety of hand tools and basic power tools confidently under supervision. Strong hand-eye coordination and good visual acuity, including color and depth perception, for precise assembly and inspection tasks. Work Environment This position operates in an active manufacturing and assembly facility. You frequently use your hands and fingers for welding-related tasks, grinding, and assembly work. The role requires the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment up to 40 pounds, with occasional heavier lifting performed with assistance. You will stand, walk, bend, kneel, and squat for extended periods during the shift. Strong hand-eye coordination and good visual acuity, including color and depth perception, are necessary for inspecting welds, reading drawings, and performing precise assembly. You must be able to hear alarms, signals, and communicate effectively in a noisy environment. Work areas may expose you to hot or cold temperatures depending on the production area and seasonal conditions. Noise levels range from moderate to high, and hearing protection may be required. You will encounter welding fumes, dust, and airborne particles, with appropriate respiratory protection and ventilation provided according to safety standards. Work is performed in well-lit areas, with occasional use of supplemental task lighting. Surfaces may be uneven, metal, or grating, and you may need to climb ladders or work at elevated positions. Personal protective equipment such as welding helmets, gloves, protective clothing, and other PPE is required and provided in line with safety procedures. The environment includes exposure to sparks, molten metal, and moving machinery, and you are expected to follow all safety protocols rigorously at all times. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Riverside, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
