Job Description

Overview VITA Detection is seeking a hands-on Electronics Assembly & Test Technician to support the assembly, wiring, testing, troubleshooting, and installation of electronic security screening equipment. The ideal candidate has practical experience working with electrical and electronic assemblies and is comfortable reading technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions. This position will work closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Service teams to ensure equipment is assembled correctly, tested thoroughly, and meets VITA's quality and performance requirements. This is a hands-on position involving electrical wiring, soldering, mechanical assembly, PCB work, troubleshooting, equipment testing, calibration and harness assembly. Responsibilities Read, interpret, and follow work orders, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, BOMs, assembly instructions, and other technical documentation. Perform mechanical, electrical, and electronic assembly of components, subassemblies. Build, route, terminate, label, and install wiring, wire harnesses, cables, connectors, and electrical assemblies. Perform quality soldering, rework, and assembly of electronic components, including PCB, SMT/SMD, and through-hole components. Install and connect electrical and electronic components including power supplies, control boards, motors, sensors, switches, connectors, and related equipment. Use hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, crimping tools, meters, and other specialized equipment required for assembly and testing. Perform electrical continuity checks, functional testing, and diagnostic procedures on completed assemblies and equipment. Test and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, and wiring-related issues during production and final testing. Identify wiring errors, component failures, assembly defects, and other production issues and assist in determining appropriate corrective actions. Work closely with Engineering and Quality teams to resolve technical issues and support product improvements, engineering changes, prototypes, and new product introductions. Document assembly, testing, inspection, and troubleshooting activities accurately. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment and ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained. Follow all company safety procedures, quality requirements, work instructions, and applicable regulatory requirements. Communicate effectively with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Service, Supply Chain, and other departments to maintain production schedules and resolve issues. Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving product quality, assembly efficiency, reliability, and production processes. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. Skills 2+ years of experience in electronics assembly, electrical assembly, manufacturing, electromechanical assembly, or a related field. Experience reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, or assembly instructions. Hands-on experience with electrical wiring, cable/harness assembly, connectors, and terminations. Demonstrated soldering experience with through-hole and/or SMT/SMD components. Ability to use common electrical and mechanical tools and test equipment. Basic troubleshooting skills and the ability to identify electrical and assembly-related problems. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team. Ability to lift, move, and work around equipment and components associated with manufacturing operations.
Pay:
$55,000.00 per year
