These modules are the primary building blocks of their new linear accelerator. Job Overview & Core Responsibilities Technicians in this role primarily work out of the
Industrial Center Building Cryomodule Assembly:
Executing precise mechanical and electrical assembly of components inside cleanrooms and industrial spaces.Testing & Diagnostics:
Participating in vacuum leak checking, pressure testing, and multi-axis motion control or instrumentation setup to validate the structural integrity of the cryomodules before they are cooled downTransportation Rigging:
Working with specialized transportation frames designed to move 10-meter-long components safely between international partners.Documentation:
Recording test operations, modifications, and quality control metrics into the laboratory's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)Requirements & Qualifications Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, though an Associate degree in a technical or engineering discipline is highly preferred.Technical Skills:
Previous soldering experience and a strong fundamental knowledge of mechanical assemblies, electrical wiring, vacuum systems, or plumbing/cryogenicsSite & Clearance Requirements:
The position is strictly onsite in Batavia, IL. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) credential, which requires passing a federal background check and a pre-employment drug screening #BPSNAP1Pay:
