Solder Technician BESTProto, Inc South Elgin, IL Job Details Full-time $18 - $25 an hour 15 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Teamwork IPC 610 Assembly wiring Attention to detail Quality control experience within electronics industry Full Job Description We're hiring an Experienced Solder Technician to join our fast-growing prototype electronics manufacturing company in the western suburbs of Chicago. This is a hands-on role in a clean, well-equipped shop that offers opportunities to learn, grow, and contribute to exciting high-tech projects. Responsibilities Perform precise hand soldering of SMT and thru-hole components, including touch-up and replacement Assemble circuit boards using samples, prints, wiring diagrams, and process sheets Follow IPC Class 3 workmanship standards for high-reliability products Use a microscope to inspect and work with fine-pitch components Verify quality and specifications; perform rework as needed Maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Other duties as needed. Qualifications Proficiency in hand soldering (SMT and thru-hole) using both SnPb and lead-free solder Ability to identify components and ensure correct polarity Experience with IPC Class 3 standards (certification a plus) Skilled in SMT rework, including fine-pitch and small-form components Comfortable working under a microscope Able to work independently with minimal supervision Experience in trace or PCB repair is a plus Ability to communicate well with co-workers and staff Ability to read blueprints, schematics, assembly drawings/instructions.
