You'll install electrical components and wire control panels and switchboards in our clean, modern Lafayette manufacturing facility. We provide on-the-job training, including how to read electrical drawings and follow our wiring procedures. Our shop includes automatic wire-processing equipment, company-provided hand and power tools, and personal toolboxes. Pay and benefits $18-$20 per hour, based on experience and skills. Schedule First shift:
Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Overtime is available and may be required during busy production periods. Work is generally scheduled on weekdays, with occasional weekend hours based on production needs. What you'll do Wire control panels and switchboards according to drawings and work instructions. Install electrical wiring and components. Cut, crimp, and label wires and make point-to-point connections. Assemble components of electrical distribution equipment. Safely use shop tools and wire-processing equipment after training. Check dimensions and component placement, with accuracy to 1/32 inch when required. Follow quality standards and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. What you'll bring Comfort using common hand tools and power tools. Close attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship. Ability to read a tape measure or ruler and take accurate measurements, including fractional-inch markings. Willingness to learn electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and wiring procedures. Ability to follow work instructions, quality standards, and safety practices. Dependable attendance and the ability to work independently and with teammates. A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and practical skills. Previous wiring, assembly, fabrication, or other hands-on experience is helpful, but manufacturing experience is not required. Familiarity with electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and basic computer use is also a plus. Physical expectations This is an active, hands-on manufacturing position involving standing and moving throughout the workday, bending, reaching, and using tools. Wiring tasks involve handling wires and small components and making precise connections. Material-handling tasks may involve lifting or moving items weighing up to 50 pounds.
