Mechanical Assembler Pay $23-25 Newburyport MA Job Description This role focuses on assembling electro-mechanical products and systems using hand and power tools, following detailed prints, diagrams, and procedures. You will work on box builds, chassis assembly, point-to-point wiring, and PC board-related tasks to support complex automated equipment and instruments. Responsibilities Perform mechanical assembly of electro-mechanical controls and systems according to prints, diagrams, and written procedures. Complete box builds, including mounting components, routing wiring, and securing hardware. Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for assembly and wiring tasks. Build and assemble chassis, ensuring proper fit, alignment, and mechanical integrity. Carry out point-to-point wiring, including routing, terminating, and organizing wires within assemblies. Crimp connectors and terminals accurately to ensure reliable electrical connections. Work with PC boards and circuit boards, including installing, wiring, and integrating them into assemblies. Label wires clearly and consistently to meet documentation and quality standards. Interpret and follow schematics, diagrams, and assembly documentation to complete work correctly. Inspect completed assemblies for workmanship, functionality, and adherence to specifications. Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety guidelines and procedures. Collaborate with team members and support continuous improvement in assembly processes. Essential Skills Proven mechanical assembly experience, ideally in an electro-mechanical or controls environment. Hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools for assembly and wiring. Ability to read and follow prints, diagrams, schematics, and written procedures. Electro-mechanical assembly (e/m) experience, including working with electrical and mechanical components. Demonstrated experience performing box builds and chassis assembly. Strong point-to-point wiring skills (must have), including routing and terminating wires. Crimping experience (must have), using appropriate tools and techniques for connectors and terminals. Experience working with PC boards and circuit boards within assemblies. Ability to label wires accurately and follow wiring standards. High school diploma or equivalent. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience as a mechanical assembler in environments involving box wiring and electro-mechanical systems. Experience in electrical-mechanical assembly for automated equipment or complex instruments. Comfort interpreting schematics and wiring diagrams to guide assembly work. Familiarity with products used in medical devices, optics, printed circuit boards, or mechanical and electrical design. Attention to detail and strong commitment to quality and workmanship. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newburyport, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
