Job Title:
Manufacturing Assembler Job Description This role focuses on assembling products using hand and power tools, installing electrical components and labels, and ensuring all units meet defined specifications and customer requirements. You will follow Standard Operating Procedures, interact with the production system to manage job orders, and support a clean, safe, and efficient manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Assemble products using hand and power tools to position, align, and fasten parts and units into assemblies, subassemblies, or frames. Install wire labels and device tags, working accurately with different label and tag styles. Review and interpret job orders to understand work requirements and sequence of tasks. Interact with the Epicor system by correctly badging in and out of active job orders on the production floor. Read, comprehend, and execute processes and procedures according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to safely and properly operate equipment and tools. Check completed units to ensure they meet specifications, tolerances, and customer requirements. Use tape measures and basic measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure assembly accuracy. Perform visual inspections of components and subassemblies to identify defects or nonconformities. Apply basic understanding of mechanical and electrical assembly to correctly route, connect, and secure components. Identify and distinguish wire gauges and colors, and apply knowledge of ampacities during assembly. Recognize differences between NEMA ratings of enclosures and apply this knowledge when assembling and labeling units. Work collaboratively in a team environment to troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues as they arise. Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety and PPE requirements. Perform other projects and duties as assigned by leadership to support production needs. Essential Skills At least 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment. Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions in English. Ability to safely operate hand and power tools in a production environment. Ability to visually inspect components and subassemblies for quality and conformity. Ability to read, write, and comprehend plant directives written in English. Ability to stand for long periods of time during the shift. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on an intermittent basis. Accuracy and timeliness in completing work assignments. Basic understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLC), variable frequency drives (VFD), and circuit breakers. Ability to understand and distinguish between different NEMA ratings of enclosures. Knowledge of identifying wire gauges and colors and understanding wire ampacities. Ability to effectively use a tape measure and perform simple mathematics. Basic understanding of schematics, mechanical assembly, and electrical assembly. Ability to work effectively in a team environment, including collaborating, troubleshooting, and problem solving with coworkers. Ability to adhere to all required personal protective equipment (PPE) for eye, hand, and foot protection. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Experience with assembly work using hand tools, power tools, and tape measures. Experience working on an assembly line or in a structured production environment. Familiarity with Epicor or similar manufacturing or production tracking systems. Experience with electrical assembly, including working with wire labels, device tags, and electrical components. Limited but practical understanding of PLCs, VFDs, and circuit breakers in a manufacturing context. Comfort working in a role that requires frequent lifting, standing, bending, and reaching. Work Environment The role is based in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility with an emphasis on safety and organization. You will work with hand and power tools, electrical components, wire labels, and measuring devices such as tape measures, as well as interact with the Epicor production system. The position operates on two primary shifts: a day shift from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and a night shift from 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Monday through Thursday. Overtime is scheduled on Fridays and is mandatory, and there are openings on both day and night shifts. The work requires frequent lifting, standing, bending, and reaching throughout the shift. Personal protective equipment (PPE) for eyes, hands, and feet is required at all times to perform the job safely. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Faribault, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
