Assembler Job Description This hands-on Assembler role supports the production of HVAC cooling units used in electronics applications such as data centers, ATMs, and computer systems. You will work in a team-oriented manufacturing environment with the opportunity to learn multiple areas of assembly, from light assembly to larger sub-assemblies, while contributing directly to high-quality, technologically advanced products. Responsibilities Assemble components and products according to detailed work instructions, specifications, and blueprints. Perform light assembly tasks using small hand tools and follow step-by-step work instructions. Build larger components and sub-assemblies as part of a team-based production cell. Use hand tools and basic equipment, such as screwdrivers, drills, and wrenches, to complete assemblies safely and efficiently. Pick, gather, and stage materials and components needed for production orders and inventory handling. Conduct basic quality checks and visual inspections to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to standards. Follow work instructions and blueprints to perform mechanical and electrical assembly, including control panels and wiring as required. Apply basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to resolve minor assembly or process issues. Work collaboratively with team members and communicate effectively to meet daily and long-term production goals. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with established processes and production standards. Perform repetitive tasks while standing for extended periods and working with small to medium-sized components. Support a quality-focused and process-driven production environment by adhering to procedures and safety guidelines. Essential Skills Previous assembly, manufacturing, or production experience preferred. Experience using hand tools such as screwdrivers, drills, and wrenches. Ability to read and follow work instructions, specifications, and blueprints. Mechanical assembly skills, including inspection and assembly of components. Strong attention to detail and quality, including basic quality inspection. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Manual dexterity and ability to work with small parts and components. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks. Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Teamwork and communication skills to collaborate in a cell-based or station-based environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Reading comprehension skills for understanding detailed work instructions and production orders. Blueprint reading capabilities for mechanical and electrical assemblies. Inventory handling and material picking experience. Panel building and control panel assembly experience. Electrical assembly and electrical wiring experience. Experience or familiarity with HVAC installation and HVAC building. Work Environment This role is based on a manufacturing and production floor dedicated to assembling HVAC cooling units for electronics applications. You will work a stable weekday schedule, with typical hours running from the morning into mid-afternoon. The environment is clean, organized, and process-driven, with work performed either in team-based cell build groups or at individual assembly stations. Tasks are hands-on and repetitive, involving small to medium-sized components and regular use of hand tools. There is a strong emphasis on accuracy, attention to detail, and quality checks throughout the assembly process. Work follows detailed work instructions and production orders, and maintaining a clean, orderly workspace is expected. Safety is a priority, with personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and adherence to established safety procedures required on the production floor. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Kingstown, RI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
