Summary The electrical technician will be responsible for the installation of cables, harnesses and electrical components in accordance with blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings and other written and verbal instructions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Have an advanced understanding of electrical circuitry and the operation of electrical components (relays, solenoids, temperature sensors, and pressure sensors) and how to use standard electrical tools (digital multi-meter, wire strippers, crimpers, tape measure, heat gun, and soldering iron); Interpret technical diagrams, electrical blueprints, and single-line schematics to guide work; Perform high-quality soldering of cables and electrical components (wire splicing and connector solder cups); Installs and terminates electrical connections by splicing, soldering, crimping, etc. to industry-accepted best practices and methods; Mount, align, and assemble electrical and electronic parts into larger enclosures following engineering drawings and schematics; Understanding of electrical system interfaces and their limitations to avoid damage during testing; Ability to follow directions; ability to read and understand blueprints and electrical schematics; Ability to install cables, harnesses, and electrical components while ensuring that the integrity of the parts remains intact includes proper wire and cable routing for tension and slack management; the installation of the cables onto the final assembly could involve working in tight routing spaces; Experience with 12V and 24V DC and 3-phase AC is a plus; components, circuit characteristics, and safety considerations are a must; Able to troubleshoot electrical circuits to determine if the sensor or cable assembly is the fault; Able to identify and work with engineering on 'as-built' markups to ensure the robustness of documentation; Identify product defects and review with management an acceptable resolution when they are identified; Assist with system performance testing prior to customer testing; Ability to work under minimal supervision; Must be adaptable to a changing work environment and competing demands and be able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events; Must be willing and able to work flexible shifts and changing work schedules; adhere to all company policies; Follow all quality, health, safety, and environmental programs; Attend work per work schedule; Possess all tools required for the position; Keeps work area clean and hazard-free.
