Job Title:
Electrical Assembler Job Description This role focuses on performing electrical assembly on truck bodies, including installing wiring systems and components on the mid section and tail end of the vehicles. You will install and test electrical and electronic components, troubleshoot malfunctions, and ensure that all work meets safety standards and customer expectations in a fast-paced production environment. Responsibilities Install electrical wiring systems and components on the mid section and tail end of truck bodies. Install lights, strobe lights, backup alarms, trailer plugs, backup cameras, and related electrical components on trucks. Assemble electrical and electronic systems and support structures, including components, units, subassemblies, wiring, and assembly casings using rivets and bolts. Clean parts using appropriate cleaning solutions, air hoses, and cloths to ensure proper assembly and performance. Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, and reports to determine materials requirements and assembly instructions. Inspect, operate, and test products to verify that they meet customer expectations and quality standards. Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and wiring problems, using critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues. Follow all safety regulations and procedures to protect yourself and coworkers, including keeping the work area clean and orderly. Wear appropriate safety attire and personal protective equipment required for each task. Work effectively on an assembly line in a production environment, meeting performance and quality goals. Essential Skills Demonstrated experience in electrical assembly, including wiring and installation of electrical components. Ability to read, interpret, and work from schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, and work orders. Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and repairing electrical malfunctions and wiring problems. Mechanical aptitude and experience working with mechanical and electrical assemblies. Ability to inspect, operate, and test electrical and electronic systems to ensure proper function and quality. Capability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in a manufacturing environment. Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions and documentation. Basic computer usage skills to access and update work orders or related production information.AWS D1.1
weld certification. High School Diploma or GED. Additional Skills & Qualifications Vocational training in electrical, mechanical, or related technical fields is desired. Experience with electronic assembly and production or assembly line work. Experience in machine operation and mechanical assembly in a manufacturing setting. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment. Attention to detail and commitment to meeting quality and safety standards. Work Environment Work takes place in a manufacturing and production setting that is not climate-controlled, with a fast-paced and performance-driven atmosphere. Team members work on an assembly line with electrical and mechanical components and use tools such as rivet and bolt equipment, cleaning solutions, air hoses, and testing devices. The standard schedule is second shift, 3:15 PM to 11:45 PM, Monday through Friday, with overtime expected after the shift and on some Fridays. The dress code includes plain-colored t-shirts (blue or gray preferred), jeans, and steel-toe boots, with appropriate personal protective equipment required for specific tasks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Salem, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $22.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
