You will build and align custom packaging machinery from blueprints, verify component quality, and help prepare equipment for successful shipment. This is a hands-on opportunity for a mechanically skilled professional who enjoys precision work, troubleshooting, and seeing complex equipment come together. Key Responsibilities Assemble complex packaging machinery and options from drawings, work instructions, and specifications. Fit, align, adjust, and verify components within required tolerances; confirm final alignment before shipment. Inspect starting materials and assembled parts, identify shortages or defects, and communicate issues promptly. Install mechanical systems such as chains, pulleys, gearboxes, pneumatic components, regulators, and air lines. Use hand and light power tools, calipers, micrometers, scales, and other measuring devices safely and accurately. Troubleshoot build issues and partner with Engineering, Planning, Fabrication, and Production to resolve them. Follow safety, personal protective equipment, 5S, and continuous-improvement requirements; maintain an organized work area. Support training and increasingly complex machine builds based on demonstrated skill level. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 2+ year of mechanical assembly, industrial maintenance, field service, or related hands-on experience. Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, manuals, and written work instructions. Working knowledge of basic shop math and precision measuring tools. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, use ladders, work at heights up to 25 feet, and squat or sit for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Qualifications Trade-school training in mechanical assembly, machining, or a related technical field. Experience with packaging machinery, pneumatics, tight-tolerance assembly, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, or machine rebuilds. Experience with material requirements planning software and basic computer transactions. Level Placement Placement from Level I through Senior is based on relevant experience and demonstrated capability. Higher levels require independent completion of increasingly complex W18, W25, W630, option, cup-machine, or rebuild work, along with technical leadership and training responsibilities. Additional Details Full-time, non-exempt position based 100% onsite in Rialto, California. Schedule and shift will be confirmed during the recruitment process; overtime may be required based on business needs. Travel is generally not required. Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with noise, moving equipment, flying debris, temperature changes, and required personal protective equipment.
Compensation Compensation range:
$2400- $25.00. Pay will be determined based on the candidate's experience, demonstrated skill level, and other job-related factors. Why Winpak?
