Mechanical Assembler III Job Description The Mechanical Assembler III works under general supervision to perform a variety of non-routine mechanical assembly operations on a production line. This role focuses on building complex assemblies and chassis, following detailed work instructions, engineering drawings, and bills of materials while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and documentation. Responsibilities Assemble mechanical and electromechanical units using visual aids and verbal and written work instructions. Prepare parts for box build and final assembly, ensuring all components meet specifications. Assemble units using the proper hardware sequence and verify correct parts and descriptions against the bill of materials. Use rivet guns, electric screwdrivers, small hand tools, and air compressor tools to perform assembly tasks. Build chassis assemblies as required, including complex chassis with multiple components. Operate simple production equipment such as swage tools, wire preparation tools, contact systems, preset dies, and cut-off machines. Use SAP to perform confirmation duties and update production-related information as needed. Refer to and interpret engineering drawings and perform Engineering Change Orders (ECO) as assigned. Document problems and issues that occur during assembly and communicate them appropriately. Perform manual board masking when required. Perform soldering tasks when needed, following applicable standards and certifications. Follow all company security procedures and comply with safety and ESD guidelines. Work overtime and occasional Saturdays when scheduled to meet production demands. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support production goals. Essential Skills Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, including comprehending verbal and written instructions and documentation. Knowledge of electrostatic discharge (ESD) practices and controls. Knowledge of safety procedures in a production and assembly environment. Knowledge of hardware identification and wire harness identification. Ability to understand item descriptions on bills of materials. Ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings and Engineering Change Orders (ECO). Proficiency in using rivet guns, electric screwdrivers, small hand tools, and air compressor tools. Ability to build chassis assemblies, including at least one year of experience building complex chassis. High school diploma or GED required. Two or more years of progressively complex experience in a related field of work, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Minimum of 1 year of experience in mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately. Demonstrated problem-solving ability in a production environment. Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications May require a soldering certificate to perform certain tasks. Experience in production, light industrial work, and using power tools. Worked in mechanical skills and finishing work is highly beneficial. Relatable experience in roles such as tire technicians or display technicians can contribute to success in this position. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Adamstown, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.06 - $30.72/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
