Job Description The Mechanical Assembler plays a key role in assembling mechanical components, subassemblies, and finished products according to technical specifications and quality standards. This position is ideal for individuals who take pride in precision work, enjoy problem-solving, and want to contribute to the success of a collaborative manufacturing team. Responsibilities Assemble mechanical components, subassemblies, and finished products according to blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and work instructions. Operate hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and production machinery safely and efficiently. Read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate assembly. Perform quality inspections throughout the assembly process to verify compliance with company and customer standards. Troubleshoot assembly issues and report defects, malfunctions, or process concerns to supervisors. Measure and verify dimensions, tolerances, and alignments using tape measures, calipers, and other measuring devices. Maintain accurate production and assembly records, including quantities completed and issues encountered. Safely handle, move, and position materials, components, and finished products. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company safety procedures. Collaborate with team members to improve workflow efficiency and meet daily production goals. Support additional manufacturing and production activities as needed. Required Skills & Experience Experience in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, production, or a related industrial environment preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand tools and power tools. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and assembly instructions. Experience using measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Ability to identify and troubleshoot mechanical assembly issues. Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift and move materials as needed. Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Technical certification in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, maintenance, or a related field is a plus. Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial production environment. Ability to learn new equipment, procedures, and assembly processes quickly. Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to workplace safety. Work Environment This position is based in a small manufacturing facility with approximately 25 employees, creating a collaborative and close-knit team atmosphere. Work is performed on a consistent first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with optional overtime available on Saturdays. The role involves working with hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and manufacturing equipment in a clean, organized, and safety-focused production environment. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Rochester, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
