Base Pay Rate:
$80,000/yr. to $100,000/yr.

Monday-Friday (8am-4:00pm | 9:00-5:00pm | 8:30am-4:30pm, flexible based on shift preference)

Job Responsibilities:
Set up CNC lathe machines, including loading tooling, fixtures, and workpieces to ensure precise operation. Edit existing CNC Lathe programs using G-code, as needed. Interpret mechanical blueprints and schematics, applying GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles to ensure parts meet strict specifications. Utilize metrology and measurement tools like bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision measuring instruments for quality control. Optimize CNC Lathe machining processes by applying lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve efficiency. Troubleshoot machining issues related to geometry, tooling, or machine performance; adjust programs accordingly for continuous process improvement. Maintain detailed documentation of setups, programs, and inspection results to ensure traceability and compliance with quality standards.
Job Qualifications:
Proven experience in CNC Lathe Setup, operation, and programming machines using G-code only. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings accurately. Familiarity with optical fabrication, manufacturing optical contact lenses, tooling, designing, and/or modifying parts and fixtures. Hands-on experience with CNC Lathe tooling selection, setup, and maintenance for metal machining applications. Knowledge in generating efficient toolpaths on CNC Lathe machines and operating diamond turning equipment. Understanding of metrology tools, equipment, and precision measurement techniques using precision instruments like micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, etc. HS Diploma or equivalent, required; Vocational degree, Technical Certificate or equivant in CNC Machining, desired. Experience working within highly regulated, critical FDA or precision lean manufacturing environments to streamline operations and enhance productivity. Pay Transparency:
In accordance with New York State pay transparency requirements, the expected compensation range for this position is $80k/yr. to $100k/yr. The actual rate offered will be based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and business needs.
