Non‑climate controlled (can get very hot; facility is not air-conditioned) Job Overview The Fabrication Associate supports daily pipe fabrication operations in a fast-paced industrial environment. This position involves machine operation, material handling, pipe cutting and processing, quality inspections, and assisting with fabrication activities to prepare products for customer shipments. The ideal candidate has a mechanical background, experience working around industrial machinery, and the ability to read measurements accurately while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality. Must‑Haves 6-8 months of recent machinery experience , including: Band saws Automatic welding machines Industrial fabrication equipment Mechanical or industrial background Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure Experience using gauges for quality inspections 3-6 months of forklift experience Qualifications Good oral and written communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong math skills for measurements and product calculations Knowledge of safe work practices in industrial or pipe yard environments Experience with machinery for cutting and threading pipe (training provided) Results-focused mindset in a fast-paced environment Basic computer skills for operating automated machinery Preferred Experience Experience with: Pipe threaders Band saws Roll groove machines Plasma cutting equipment Automatic welding machines Pneumatic banders Fire sprinkler pipe fabrication Ability to handle and sort pipe ranging from ½" to 10" in diameter.
Responsibilities:
Fabrication & Material Handling Move loose or bundled pipe throughout the shop and yard Assemble pipe orders (single sticks or bundles) Maintain organized work supplies and staging areas Machine Operation Set up and maintain machines used in pipe fabrication Measure, record, and calculate pipe lengths accurately Measure and cut pipe using band saws or torches Thread and bevel pipe using Landis machines Operate powered industrial equipment in accordance with OSHA and company procedures Quality & Safety Perform quality inspections using measuring tools and gauges Verify dimensions and fabrication accuracy Follow all safety procedures for fabrication, assembly, cutting, stacking, and shipping activities Inspect and maintain forklift equipment Maintain a clean and organized work environment Physical Requirements Frequent standing, lifting, bending, twisting, and material handling Ability to work safely in a hot industrial environment Ability to move and organize pipe materials throughout the shift Additional Considerations Candidates with backgrounds in the following industries are strongly encouraged to apply: Auto Mechanics Machinery Maintenance Automotive Manufacturing Diesel Equipment Farm Equipment Industrial Maintenance About SGF Global Who We Are SGF Global is an integrated talent solutions provider, offering staffing, recruitment, Employer of Record (EOR), nearshore, and consulting services across a wide range of industries in 35 countries.
