Day shift with overtime, on-call, and emergency coverage Position Summary The Sr. Electrical Motor Winder is responsible for disassembling, inspecting, rewinding, repairing, and testing AC and DC electric motors, generators, pumps, and related rotating equipment. This position requires a skilled technician with a minimum of ten (10) years of motor winding experience, strong troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Will also be required to review other work for quality purposes, to ensure the highest level of quality is being delivered to our customers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Disassemble, inspect, and evaluate electric motors and rotating equipment for repair. Remove damaged windings and prepare stators, rotors, and armatures for rewinding. Perform winding, insulating, lacing, and varnishing of AC and DC motors according to specifications. Interpret motor winding data, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Rewind single-phase, three-phase, and specialty motors while maintaining original equipment specifications. Conduct electrical testing, including surge testing, resistance testing, hipot testing, and continuity verification. Operate bake ovens, burn-out ovens, winding equipment, balancing equipment, and other shop tools safely. Troubleshoot motor failures and identify root causes of electrical and mechanical issues. Document repair activities, measurements, test results, and materials used. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements. Assist with training and mentoring less experienced technicians as needed. Support shop operations by assisting with mechanical repairs, assembly, and other related duties.
