Fives Gidding & Lewis is actively seeking an Assembler Specialist to join our team in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Position Summary

Perform a wide range of mechanical assembly work per engineered-assembly drawings. Use hand and power tools to assemble components. Use overhead cranes to lift weldments or castings and assemblies into location. Requires skill, judgment and knowledge related to precision assembly methods. Knowledge of GD&T and the ability to read blueprints beneficial. Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will: Assemble units and machines to engineering specifications per assembly drawings

Build machines and associated units to specified-time requirements in work schedules

Test and ensure quality standards are met for all units built in the area

Perform part inspection as needed, identify defective parts if necessary

Clean, fit, align, adjust and assemble parts as needed

Follow, create and maintain written assembly procedures

Interpret guidance and communicate with other departments in absence of supervisor

Maintain equipment in the assigned area at a basic user level

Recommend design improvements; seek to increase efficiency in unit assembly area

Operate hand tools, power tools, grinders and machines throughout the course of the build cycle as needed

Work independently with limited supervision

Awareness of 9001 and 14001 policies and procedures Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 4-6 years related experience and/or training

High degree of mechanical aptitude

Read and interpret assembly drawings

Work with English and Metric measurements

Operator gages such as OD and ID micrometers, verniers, gage blocks, etc.

Operate small machines, including lathe, grinder, drill press, belt sander, etc.

Basic computer literacy

Operate overhead crane and forklifts to stack units for machine assembly What We Offer
