Full Job Description Position Title:

Service Technician Job Purpose:

Serves customers by fixing sewing machines that need repair and assists customers/staff on the sales floor as needed.

Service Technician Job Duties:

Work out of a queue of checked in machines to clean, service, repair as needed. Able to stay on task and self-motivate. Go through periodic training to learn how to work with different brands of sewing machines, work with different types of fabric, and new releases. Learns the functions of different machines to be able to fix as well as advise on use of machine. Able to effectively communicate with customer the ways to use and keep their machine running. May have to sometimes sit with customer and go through machine functions. Multi-task between assigned duties and periodic customer questions and assistance on floor with customers who may have machine questions or need parts or help with lifting machine. Welcomes customers by greeting them; offering them assistance. Advises customers by providing information on products. Helps customer make selections by building customer confidence; offering suggestions and opinions. Documents sale by creating or updating customer profile records. Processes payments by totaling purchases; processing checks, cash, and store or other credit cards. Keeps clientele informed by notifying them of preferred customer sales and future merchandise of potential interest. Stocks and cleans shelves as time allows. Must be able to use a computerized sales register and multiple line telephone. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing tasks as needed on the sales floor including but not limited to: Cutting fabric Merchandising product Cash Register Operation Measuring quilts Checking in sewing machines for service Cleaning and taking out trash Other duties that may be assigned by the floor manager.

Physical Requirements:

Lift up to 40 Pounds, Exert a Wide Range of Physical Movements, Stand for Long Periods of Time, Neat and Professional Appearance by Following the Company Dress Code. This position is non-exempt (hourly) and part-time. A high school diploma (or GED) is preferred with at least one year of experience in retail sales, mechanics, or other related field.

Pay:

$17.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
