Duties Prepare and set up optical equipment, including optical lens edgers and CNC lathes, ensuring optimal performance for production tasks. Conduct laboratory procedures related to lens fabrication, including parameter identification, machining, and quality control checks. Interpret ophthalmic prescription abbreviations accurately to ensure precise lens fabrication according to specifications. Manage laboratory workflows efficiently to support high-volume production while maintaining compliance with

ISO 13485

standards. Perform routine maintenance and mechanical adjustments on laboratory machinery, leveraging mechanical knowledge and machining skills. Implement quality assurance protocols by inspecting lens parameters, verifying measurements, and ensuring adherence to manufacturing tolerances. Maintain detailed records of laboratory activities, equipment calibration, and production data for traceability and compliance. Collaborate with sales teams by understanding retail optical needs and providing technical support related to lens specifications. Support laboratory management by organizing supplies, managing inventory levels, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment. Stay updated on advancements in ophthalmology, physiology, anatomy knowledge, and optical laboratory techniques to enhance operational efficiency. Requirements Proven experience in an optical laboratory environment with high-volume production exposure. Strong understanding of ophthalmology principles, including anatomy and physiology relevant to lens fabrication. Proficiency in interpreting ophthalmic prescriptions and understanding lens parameters. Hands-on experience with optical equipment such as optical lens edgers, CNC lathes (CNC), and other machining tools. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform equipment setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of

standards related to medical device manufacturing is highly desirable. Familiarity with laboratory management practices including quality assurance procedures. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and data analysis related to lens parameters. Ability to interpret technical drawings and operate CNC machinery effectively. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and process documentation. Effective communication skills for collaboration across manufacturing, sales, and quality teams.
