Job Description

Job Title:
Operator Technician Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Operator Technician with the potential to advance into a Maintenance Technician role. Initially, you will start as a Finish Technician, setting up machines and being the first responder to machine malfunctions within a specific department. Your role will involve setting up finishing machines, troubleshooting and repairing issues to a certain extent, and collaborating with Maintenance Technicians to solve complex problems. You will also guide other operators to prevent repetitive machine errors and oversee all equipment in your department. Responsibilities Set up and operate finishing machines. Respond promptly to machine malfunctions. Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues, escalating to Maintenance Technicians as needed. Collaborate with Maintenance Technicians to develop troubleshooting skills. Educate and guide operators to avoid repetitive machine errors. Monitor equipment including hydraulic/pneumatic pumps, spray guns, hoses, conveyors, elevators, ovens, sealers, sanders, and more. Communicate effectively via radio calls. Work overtime and assist in other areas when necessary. Essential Skills Strong mechanical aptitude. Basic understanding of electrical systems. Ability to work in high temperatures and with paint/stain fumes. Logical thinking and problem-solving skills. Mechanical troubleshooting skills with pumps, spray guns, hoses, belts, brushes, and more. Additional Skills & Qualifications Basic electrical understanding. Experience with machine operating and setup. Customer service mindset. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Goshen, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
