Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Wood Finisher to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying water-based stains and finishes to wood products to achieve high-quality surfaces that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in surface preparation, coating techniques, finishing processes, and dye stain formulations will ensure our products are visually appealing, durable, and meet customer specifications. Responsibilities Prepare wood surfaces by sanding, cleaning, and applying primer using hand tools and power tools to ensure optimal adhesion of finishes. Operate conventional spray equipment to apply coatings evenly on various wood surfaces. Interpret production documents including work orders, specifications, and quality standards to accurately execute finishing tasks. Use precision measuring instruments and visual color comparison techniques to ensure color consistency and surface quality. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Conduct quality inspections throughout the finishing process to meet or exceed quality standards in production. Follow safety protocols diligently by wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respirators, PPE masks, gloves, and eye protection during all finishing processes. Collaborate with team members in production as needed to support overall goals. Requirements Proven experience in woodworking environments with knowledge of finishing techniques. Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, spray guns, and precision measuring instruments. Ability to interpret production documents accurately and follow detailed instructions for surface preparation and coating application. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to coating thicknesses or material quantities. Ability to mix and develop custom colors using dye stains. Mechanical knowledge related to machinery operation such as sanders, sprayers, spray guns, and coating equipment is highly desirable. Strong understanding of safety protocols including PPE use—respirators, respiratory protection devices—and adherence to safety standards at all times. Warehouse experience with materials handling equipment like forklifts is preferred but not mandatory; training can be provided. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on visual color comparison for consistent finish quality. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship. Join our team as a Wood Finisher if you are passionate about craftsmanship, committed to quality, and eager to produce top-tier wood products that stand out for their quality!
