Fitter/Fabricator - 2nd shift Crown Point, Indiana Manufacturing 2087 Job Description Overview Ability to lay out, position, align and fit structural metal parts together. Tack weld fabricated parts to prepare for welding. Responsibilities
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Read blueprint drawings and parts list to determine the proper machine fabrication Focus on detail while performing job functions Safely utilize all tools/equipment while performing job functions Recognize and report problems as they arise Ensure all procedures are followed and documented
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to use a tape measure Ability to operate a welding machine Ability to use a cutting torch Complete job with required paperwork in given time frame Capable of working with others as well as independently Ability to recognize and report hazards Multitask and prioritize job orders Experience using hand and power tools
WORKING CONDITIONS
Heavy industrial environment with mechanical, electrical and welding activities requiring personal protective equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, climb, stoop, bend, lay or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of manufacturing and fabrication, you should be able to use a variety of hand and power tools. You should be able to stand for extended periods. Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with blueprints Capable of part layout Capable of performing basic math skills Ability to prioritize, organize, solve problems and complete tasks independently
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous Fitting/Fabricating experience Ability to mig and arc weld in all positions Ability to operate a plasma cutter Ability to operate various metal working equipment Rigging experience
