Full Job Description Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Metal Finisher is to safely perform a variety of finishing functions such as precision smoothing, grinding, deburring and polishing a variety of metal types to a range of finishes
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Finishing products by grinding, deburring, filing, sanding, polishing to the quality level required. Examine work pieces for defects using proper measuring tools to ensure conformance with specifications. Inspect and feel surface of metal to detect defects, such as dents or scratches and repair as applicable Able to use straight-liner, hand grinders, finishing equipment, finishing tumbler, etc. Utilize blueprints to perform job Clean equipment as needed prior to changeovers or at the end of the shift Able to work with various materials; carbon steel, aluminum and stainless steel Understand duties prior to beginning each job by reviewing work orders, blueprints, materials, specifications, parameters, and location of surfaces. Education and Experience:
High School education or GED is a requirement. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
Skills :
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Basic math skills, capable of utilizing the ERP system.
