Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Industrial Floor Sweeper to join our environmental services team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and well-maintained flooring across various industrial and commercial facilities. Your expertise in floor cleaning techniques, chemical handling, and equipment operation will ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and safety are upheld. Duties Operate industrial floor sweeping machines to remove debris, dust, and dirt from large floor surfaces efficiently. Perform comprehensive cleaning tasks including floor scrubbing, buffing, waxing, and refinishing to maintain optimal floor appearance and safety. Handle and apply floor cleaning chemicals and chemical agents safely in accordance with safety protocols and manufacturer instructions. Conduct manual handling of cleaning equipment and supplies, including heavy lifting of machinery or materials when necessary. Execute specialized cleaning procedures such as carpet cleaning, floor refinishing, and floor care treatments to meet client specifications. Maintain the proper use of janitorial and custodial equipment, ensuring all tools are clean, functional, and stored correctly. Follow environmental health standards by properly disposing of waste materials and using environmentally friendly cleaning agents where applicable. Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns professionally and ensuring satisfaction with cleaning outcomes. Document completed tasks accurately and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to supervisors. Experience Proven experience in commercial or industrial cleaning environments, with a focus on floor care or custodial services. Familiarity with various cleaning techniques including floor scrubbing, buffing, waxing, and carpet cleaning. Hands-on experience operating cleaning equipment such as sweepers, scrubbers, buffers, and polishers. Knowledge of handling floor cleaning chemicals safely while adhering to health and safety regulations. Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting or moving equipment safely. Prior experience in environmental services or janitorial roles is highly desirable. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards across diverse settings.
