Charlotte Observer Summary:
Responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing parts using ceramic and powder coating techniques. Duties include surface preparation, equipment setup and maintenance, coating application, quality control, packaging, and maintaining a clean work environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Prepare surfaces to be coated and mask as needed Optimally hung parts in preparation for efficient coating operations Set up and maintain equipment (spray guns, booth, filters, etc.) Operate equipment and machines in accordance with specific operational and safety instructions Prepare ceramic coating mixings Apply coatings following specifications as per instructions Follow quality control and production processing procedures Identify quality control issues and recommend solutions to quality challenges Remove the product from the racks and disperse to the proper location Wrap and package products correctly to be shipped and/or picked up Spray powder on to parts using correct techniques to assure even, consistent and optimal coverage Examination of finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications and quality control Maintain proper housekeeping and keep all equipment and workspaces neat and clean Other duties as assigned
Desired Work Experience:

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; 1+ year experience in an industrial painting or coatings environment preferred. Knowledge of electrocoating or similar finishing processes is a plus. Knowledge of wastewater treatment is preferred. Basic understanding of electrical and chemical processes used in e-coating. Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Understanding of basic chemistry. This role subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements and as such, U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident or U.S. Person Status Required.
