Experienced Furniture Finishers — Multiple Specialties Baker|McGuire | Connelly Springs, NC Full-time | Hourly, non-exempt | $16.00-$22.00 per hour, depending on experience Baker|McGuire is hiring experienced furniture finishers for our Connelly Springs Finishing Department. We welcome candidates who specialize in furniture spray finishing, repair, finishing utility, whitewash, glazing, lacquer application, and/or color matching , as well as versatile finishers who work across several of these areas. You do not need experience in every specialty to apply. Tell us which finishing techniques you know best. What You'll Do Depending on your experience and assigned work, you may: Prepare wood and veneer surfaces by sanding, smoothing, and cleaning them before finishing. Repair scratches, dents, and other surface imperfections. Mix and match stains, dyes, paints, and finishes to meet color specifications or match existing pieces. Apply whitewash, glazes, stains, sealers, lacquer, and other coatings using spray equipment or hand techniques. Inspect finished furniture for consistent color, appearance, and quality. Clean and maintain tools, spray equipment, and work areas. Follow chemical handling procedures, wear required personal protective equipment, and report safety concerns. What We're Looking For Hands-on experience in furniture finishing, refinishing, repair, or a related manufacturing setting; one to three years experience required within the Finishing department. Skill in at least one of the finishing specialties listed above. Experience in multiple areas is a plus. An understanding of how finishes interact with different woods, veneers, and grain patterns. Careful attention to color, detail, and the quality of the finished piece. Ability to use relevant finishing tools and equipment, such as spray gun; read a ruler, and perform basic measurements. Ability to stand and work with tools for most of the workday. Reliable attendance, clear communication, and a willingness to learn additional techniques and adjust to production needs to assist in other areas as directed by manager. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to work overtime, as needed to meet company deadlines,.
