Position Overview:
The Painter & Sander is responsible for preparing and finishing various cabinet components to ensure exceptional craftsmanship and adherence to company standards. This role requires a keen eye for detail, proficiency with both hand and power tools, and the ability to execute high-quality paint and finish applications. The ideal candidate will take pride in their work and contribute to the creation of beautifully finished products.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation:
Prepare surfaces of cabinets for painting and sanding, ensuring all materials are clean and free of defects.
Sanding:
Perform sanding of cabinet surfaces to achieve a smooth finish, using hand tools and power sanders.
Painting:
Apply paint, stain, or finishes to cabinets according to specifications and quality standards. Ensure even coverage and proper application techniques.
Quality Control:
Inspect finished products for consistency and quality, making adjustments as necessary to meet standards.
Maintenance:
Maintain tools and equipment in good working conditions, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other team members to meet production goals while maintaining quality standards.
Safety:
Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in painting and sanding cabinetry or similar woodworking projects. Familiarity with various painting techniques and materials. Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Strong time management skills to meet production deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move materials and finished products weighing up to 75 pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks. Comfortable working in a workshop or manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.
Work Environment:
The position is based in a manufacturing or workshop setting, where exposure to loud noises, dust, and machinery is common. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, ear protection, and dust masks will be provided and must be worn at all times.
