Powder Coating Operator Bon Chef, Inc. - Lafayette, NJ Bon Chef, Inc. is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Powder Coating Operator to support our finishing department. This position is responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing metal products to ensure a high-quality, durable finish that meets company standards. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment for someone who takes pride in quality work, has strong attention to detail, and is comfortable working with industrial equipment and finishing processes. Responsibilities Prepare metal parts for powder coating, including cleaning, masking, and hanging parts on racks Operate powder coating equipment to apply even, consistent finishes Monitor coating thickness, coverage, and quality throughout the process Move parts through curing ovens and ensure proper temperature and timing Inspect finished products for defects such as runs, thin coverage, or imperfections Perform touch-ups or rework as needed to meet quality standards Maintain proper workflow between preparation, coating, and finishing stages Safely handle and store powders, chemicals, and finishing materials Clean and maintain powder coating booths, tools, and work areas Follow all safety procedures, including PPE requirements and equipment safety guidelines Assist with general production or finishing tasks as needed Requirements Ability to learn and operate powder coating equipment and related tools Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality finishes Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a physically active environment Comfortable working in a manufacturing setting with exposure to heat, powders, and industrial equipment Ability to follow instructions and maintain consistent production standards Dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious Ability to work independently and as part of a team Prior powder coating, painting, finishing, or manufacturing experience is helpful but not required What We're Looking For At Bon Chef, we take pride in producing high-quality products that reflect craftsmanship, consistency, and care.
